Chief is one of Manchester's leading and longest-standing service production companies - helping national and international clients to make great work since 1997. In that time we've filmed many a superstar footballer, had an 'Ad of the Decade', sourced thousands of picture perfect locations and overcome all manner of unusual challenges. As a result, you can trust us to deliver, on budget and on time, every time.
JOURNEY OF A LIFETIME
We had the pleasure of working with our esteemed colleagues from across the pond at Supply & Demand, and director David Holm, on their stunningly crafted, and incredibly touching film made for Chevrolet & Manchester United. When it came to shooting the section which involved some complicated setups in Old Trafford with the United starting XI we were the first name on their speed dial, naturally.
To celebrate sponsoring one of the biggest clubs on the planet, Turkish Airlines decided to stage a game of keepy up at 30,000 feet. One problem - the plane they wanted the game to take place in hadn't actually been built yet. But that's okay, we built it for them, replicated the interior of the future jet right down to the tiniest details. Job done.
GO ON LAD
A hugely famous commercial we serviced for London-based production company Rattling Stick. A mini-feature film, including a huge crew and hundreds of extras, 'Go On Lad' went on to win the hearts of the nation and was named 'Ad of the Decade' by viewers of ITV. We even got to knock down a row of houses to create a true likeness of wartime Britain.
A fuel-injected spot which we worked on with director Mark Jenkinson and our good colleagues at London production company Rogue Films. The precision and beauty in this one-shot wonder reflect the car at its centre.
Never ones to shy away from a challenge, we teamed up with our friends at Russel Curran Productions and turned our MediaCity studio, which is nothing like a snowy, mountain-based log cabin bar in to...you guessed it, a snowy, mountain based log cabin bar. It was a big task, but well worth it. Pint, anyone?
We worked again with our colleagues down in London at HSI, and director Simon Cole, to help bring together a revealling look behind the scenes at what those Knitting Nanas get up to at the Shreddies factory. Our art department were literally working through the night to complete the transformation of Panalux Studios in Bolton.
We worked alongside the guys at Norwegian production company Fredrik Fiction to create these spots which act as a call-to-arms for the audience, inspiring a more considerate approach to disposing of our everyday refuse. Powerful as well as entertaining, the films, which were shot on location in Manchester, are well worth a look.
Here's a commercial we serviced for our good friends at Russell Curran, which involved building a log cabin inside Manchester's Chill Factor-e ski slope. No small ask, but one that we made happen, so director Damien O'Donnell could concentrate filming a fun snowy escapade.
